Big Board Birthday
Today marks the one year anniversary of The Big Board. Looking back on my first post, I think I've done pretty well so far.
I've hit some rough spots along the way. I've had plenty of extended hiatuses due to work, personal business, plain old boredom, and an increasing distaste for the state of political discourse. But it's my small circle of devoted readers who keep me coming back. Over the next couple of weeks, I'll be taking some time to focus on the bloggers who have been great friends of The Big Board.
------------------------------
The Big Ten conference is ridiculously good from top to bottom this season, but it doesn't look like the Buckeyes will be shaken this week. Ohio State vs. Indiana makes for a solid basketball matchup... but football? This one should be a blowout.

#14 Ohio State Buckeyes (4-2, 2-1) vs.
Indiana Hoosiers (4-2, 1-2)
October 22, 2005 - 12:00 PM - Memorial Stadium - Bloomington, IN - ESPN
UPDATE 10/22/05 3:35 PM - Final Score: OSU 41 - IU 10
------------------------------
The World Series begins tonight, with the Chicago White Sox hosting the Houston Astros. I'm going with the Sox in 7, but my picks so far this postseason have flat-out sucked, so take it for whatever it's worth.
------------------------------
Everybody is itching for Rove and Libby to be indicted. I'm still not convinced it will happen, but Plamegate is certainly getting more interesting. More to come...
Welcome to "The Big Board," my endeavor into the brave new world of blogging. ... I'm hoping to use this blog as an anything-goes "war room" - a sounding board for anyone who wants to speak their mind about most anything. I'm expecting a slow start, but hopefully this will blossom into a productive and welcome distraction from my more serious responsibilities.Hard to believe it's been a whole year since I started this thing. I originally intended for this blog to be mostly political, but I inevitably ended up mixing politics with two of my other hobbies, sports and random bullsh*t. :-)
